Dance4Life is proud to announce a new partnership with Comic Relief. The This Way Up! project will see our Ghanaian partner scale their impact, while Dance4Life will fine-tune and strengthen two key pillars of our social franchise: our Trainers4Life and our network of franchisees. Together, this will support us on our mission to empower 5 million young people by 2030, jointly with our partners.
Scaling up in Ghana
Theatre for Social Change successfully piloted the Journey4Life in Ghana in 2018. Building on this pilot, they will extend their reach to 4.500 young people in two regions with the Journey4Life. The project kicked off with a refresher training for 25 Champions4Life (see photo), with the young peer facilitators being excited to continue what they started in 10 schools in 2018.
Investing in our Trainers4Life
Co-creation and youth leadership is part of the Dance4Life DNA. Our Trainers4Life take on a crucial part in developing our programs and training our Champions4Life on how to deliver the Journey4Life. In the coming two years, we will recruit additional Trainers4Life and develop an on- and offline learning and professional development structure for our Trainers4Life to allow them become and remain top-notch trainers.
Exchange, learning and inspiration
Our franchisees are the experts on implementing the Journey4Life. With this project, we want to build a stronger knowledge, exchange and learning platform to make the most of this expertise. The Dance4Life Board of Franchisees has developed an ambitious year plan with activities including peer visits, webinars and the annual Dance4Life experience meeting.
All in all, the This Way Up! project will invest in the activities and structures needed to achieve more impact at higher scale for young people in Ghana and other countries where our franchisees are based.
